Finding Beauty in the Details

I find inspiration in the world around me-what I see, touch, smell, and even taste. However, I’m a very visual person, so what catches my eye tends to stay with me. If I love how something looks, there’s a good chance it will influence how I design.

Whether I’m traveling or just going about my day, I try to slow down and really notice things. I’m always snapping photos of colors, textures, or small details that stand out. Sometimes it’s something grand, like the way light fills a room. Other times, it’s something small, like how a flower leans in a vase or how a silver tissue box shines against a marble countertop. These moments might seem random, but they inspire me.

Design isn’t just about making something beautiful—it’s about how it makes you feel. I’m drawn to things that are honest, interesting, and a sometimes unexpected. I get ideas from everywhere: books, nature, interiors, packaging—I'm one of those people that never lets their mind rest .

When I design, I’m always looking for connections between my clients and the pieces I bring into their spaces. I want their home to reflect who they are, not just look good. Maybe it’s a family photo paired with a collection of lamb figurines which in my mind means "my flock," or butterfly artwork placed intentionally in a clients home during a time of transformation in their life. These touches are what turn a house into a home.

Ultimately, I design based on what I love and what I know will resonate with my clients. The colors, shapes, and materials I’m naturally drawn to—they all come together to guide the finished product

Here are just a few photos of some inspiration I drew from on a recent trip to Amsterdam and Lago Maggiore in Italy. These are just a few, I won't bore you with the entire catalog. Thank you for reading my blog and suporting my love of design. Until next time.........

Bright orange tulips grow in straw-wrapped planters, standing out beautifully against the cobblestone path. I love the texture this brings.

This bread dish topped with bright green broccoli and colorful edible flowers, placed on a rustic dish and linen cloth makes me curious as to what the chef drew from to create this work of art.

Rustic stone walls and weathered brick details gave amazing frames to the lakeside view, with the crisp white tablecloth, creating a perfect blend of natural and refined textures.

This brass leaf container yelled at me as I passed it by saying, "I need a moss mound and you should take me home".
